for fair on a fortnight
our favourite fig tree
has furnished a feeding frenzy
for flocks of feathered filchers
Charlie Nelson
at noon and night they came
those naughty nibbling nobs
to nick the nicest nectar
to nest, to nip and to natter

what fun you have had with alliteration,
methinks your verbal dance a veritable vocation!
to see those bats in their darkly derivations,
'tis almost as if life has a loving levitation,
and how each flight takes on such fanciful fucundity,
as if done daily events were daring diurnity
i must turn my brushes to attempt an accurate assimilation,
for such scenes are surely a sensual crescendo of sublimety!
