Our Tree Planting Contribution

By Charlie Nelson

In addition to planting and maintaining trees on our property in Australia we contribute towards tree planting in parts of the world where forests have been decimated or are under threat.

In 2012 so far, donations included:

  • $250 to Greenfleet (www.greenfleet.com.au), which plants native trees in many Australian locations to offset carbon emissions from transport.  This also reduces soil salinity and provides habitat for native animals.

  • $100 to Nature Conservancy (www.nature.org) to plant 100 trees in Brazil.

  • 50 rainforest trees planted to restore orangutan habitat in degraded areas of the Leuser forests in Northern Sumatra (Sumatran Orangutan Society).
